These excerpts are taken from an experiment I did with knowledgeable listeners. I took performances of common phrases (played on the raj nplaim) and cut them into smaller and smaller segments to study the strategies listeners use to understand the messages in the music. In this case, I've ordered a few examples from short to long. This was thrown together quickly as a follow up to my talk at the recent Hmong studies conference.
